when trying to come up with a post topic, i landed upon the idea of "favorites." in essence a forum for you as the reader to tell what you like and why you like it. so for "the first sighting" i have decided the topic will be: music genres.
as will be the custom with posts of this nature, i will go first.
my favorite genre of music is acapella choral music. i enjoy the tightness of harmony that occurs when human voices are rendered exposed to the ear by the absence of accompanying instruments. also, i like instrumental parts being sung by voices. it brings the music together by allowing for a blend between the melody and accompanying lines that can't be achieved when instruments are involved. my favorite acapella groups include Glad, Rockapella, and The King's Singers.
